Shri Shivaji Education Society, Amravati, is the parent institution that manages Science College, Pauni. Founded in 1932 at Amravati by Dr. Panjabrao alias Bhausaheb Deshmukh, the Society is one of the leading educational institutions in the region. It manages more than 275 institutions across various fields, including senior colleges, junior colleges, secondary schools, hostels, engineering colleges, polytechnic colleges, and medical colleges.
Shri Shivaji Education Society, Amravati, established Science College, Pauni, in the academic year 1988–1989, with admission to B.Sc. First Year in Mathematics. Since its establishment, the college has been committed to providing quality higher education to students from rural and surrounding areas.
The college operates in a single shift, from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The academic session 2026–2027 is scheduled to commence on 15 June 2026 and conclude on 30 April 2027.
The college has its own building, constructed in 2001, situated on Khapri Road, Pauni, in Bhandara district, Maharashtra. The spacious two-storey building houses five science laboratories, five classrooms, the Principal’s office, the administrative office, a library, a girls’ common room, a Computer Science laboratory, a staff room, and other essential facilities.
The college is recognised under Sections 2(f) and 12(B) of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act. It has undergone assessment and accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and was reaccredited with a B++ Grade and a CGPA of 2.95 in the third cycle.
Science College, Pauni, continues to strive for academic excellence, the holistic development of students, and the promotion of knowledge, scientific thinking, and social responsibility.
