About Science College Pauni

Shri Shivaji Education Society, Amravati is one of the reputed education society ranked second in Maharashtra state. The society was established in 1932 with it headquarter at Amravati by Dr. Panjabrao Alias Bhausaheb Deshmukh, the great visionary and the first Minister of Agriculture of democratic and independent India. With the pain taking efforts of the all the life members and the well-wishers, the society has progress rapidly and spread in all the major districts of Vidarbha region. The society not only expanded in terms of quantity but also exhibited the quality in all areas of education. The society established with a merger strength of students now managing about 275 plus schools, junior and senior colleges of Arts, Commerce and Science disciplines along with Polytechnic, Engineering and Medical institutions. The society has also availed the residential facility to the needy students from different strata of the society.

There was no facility available for the students for getting education within the radius of 30 km and hence to provide the quality education to the students of this area the parent organization had taken initiatives for the establishment of this college. Science College Pauni is one of the reputed science stream colleges initiated by Shri Shivaji Education Society, Amravati at Pauni from the academic session 1988-99 with very few enrollments of students in B.Sc. Mathematics only. During the span of last 30 years the institution has shown exponential growth in terms of quality and quantity of the students. The institution started with very merger number of students now has 400 plus students taking education in three allied courses of science that has been run in its own two storied building with number of student system facilities available to the students for their overall development. At present the institution offers three basic degree courses along with four skill based short term courses in different subjects. The institution has adequate infrastructure situated at Khapri Road with five spacious science laboratories, five classrooms, two ICT enabled classrooms, administrative block with Principal chamber and office staff, well equipped central library, spacious playground, well acquainted computer laboratory, Girl’s common room, Staff room, meeting room and gymnasium facility.

The institution has an excellent history of meritorious students from the university examination and good ranking of students from both Bhandara and Gondia districts. The institution has permanently affiliated with Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, Nagpur and also having the recognition of UGC under 12 B and 2 (f) norms since 2001. The institution has already undergone three cycles of assessment and accreditation by NAAC Bengaluru and recently NAAC had been rated at with the grade ‘B++’ (CGPA 2.95) in 2022 for third cycle. The academic session 2024-25 will commence from 17th June, 2024 and will be ended on 30th April, 2025. The institution has teaching schedule in two shifts from 8.00 am to 5.30 pm.
